Windows 7 End of Support

Every Windows product has a lifecycle. The lifecycle begins when a product is released and ends when it’s no longer supported. Knowing key dates in this lifecycle helps you make informed decisions about when to update, upgrade or make other changes to your software.

After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7. After that deadline, Windows will operate but you will stop receiving security and feature updates, which will expose your computer networks to security treats and cyber-attacks. Microsoft recommends that you upgrade to Windows 10 asap. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsforbusiness/end-of-windows-7-support

Most computers running Windows 7 are not powerful enough to support Windows 10. That’s why we recommend replacing them. However, some organizations might have a system(s) which hardware is compatible so an in-place upgrade can be performed.
